My Experience in Swimming Lesson
I was a little scared and unsure during my first swimming class. Everyone kept saying, “ka dalom!” and honestly, they weren’t exaggerating. I got even more nervous when I found out that our first swim would be graded. I kept thinking I wouldn’t reach the bottom because I didn’t really know how to swim, and my heart was racing the whole time.
But somehow, I managed to get through that first graded swim. Of course, I swallowed water a few times, got really cold, and felt like I was struggling the entire time. Our teacher was there guiding us, showing us different types of floats like the back float and the jellyfish float. At first, it was really hard to balance and stay calm, and I panicked more than once, but little by little, I started to get it.
By the end of the class, I realized that even though I was scared, even though I swallowed water and shivered, I was actually learning. I was slowly gaining confidence in the water. I learned to trust myself, stay calm, and keep trying even when it felt impossible.
What made it even better was how fun the whole experience was. Laughing with classmates, sharing the small struggles, and cheering each other on made everything lighter. I didn’t just learn how to float or swim I also made memories that I’ll never forget.
But we’re repeating, I feel proud, especially when I look back to my self that being nervous and scared. Being able to repeat the exercises and actually do them well makes me feel accomplished and proud of myself.
